Peaceful Valley Ranch Stipulations for Employment
Age: Minimum 18 years of age.
Linens and bedding: You are expected to furnish your own linens, towels, blankets, spreads, pillows.
Toiletries: You are expected to furnish your own toiletries, stationery, etc. Laundry: You are responsible for taking care of your own laundry. There are coin-operated washers and dryers at the lodge.
Work Days: You will work six days a week, with varied hours depending on the number of guests and activities scheduled for the day.
Evening Activities: Each week you will want to participate in at least some of the evening activities, such as sing-alongs, square dancing, talent shows, campfire programs, etc. Not only do our guests really appreciate doing these things with you, you will find them to be a real bonus in your summer experience.
Days Off: You will have one day off per consecutive six days worked. This may not be the same day every week.
Other Departments: You may be called upon to work in departments other than your own when the need arises.
Recreation: The recreational Facilities of Peaceful Valley Ranch are available to you, our employees, when they are not in use by our guests, and when you are off duty.
Our Guests: Our guests at Peaceful Valley Ranch are our first and last concern, and we depend on our employees to see that everything is done for their comfort and convenience. THEY are the reason this job is available.
Employee's Guests: Whenever possible, employees are to arrange for visits from relatives and friends to coincide with their regular time off. Otherwise, work schedules will have to be shifted. We will also allow a 10% discount on full summer rates to members of employees immediate families staying overnight or longer (i.e. NOT for occasional horseback rides, swimming, meals, etc.)
Alcohol, smoking, and drugs: The drinking of alcoholic beverages if under 21 years of age, or bringing alcoholic beverages onto the premises for use by underage persons is cause for IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL. Non-smokers are preferred, and smoking is not permitted while on duty. Use of drugs is not permitted at any time, on or off duty. Violation of these rules is cause for IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL. Random Drug tests may be conducted.
Pets: Sorry, but we cannot allow pets.
Staff Meetings: During the summer there will be periodic staff meetings for the purpose of keeping employees informed of changing demands. There will also be "on the Job" training when or where needed. We want our employees to be efficient, knowledgeable, courteous, attractive, and neat in personal appearance and habits. We don't necessarily expect intensive experience, but we do expect ability and willingness to learn new jobs and methods, cooperativeness, and cheerfulness. Attendance at both general and departmental meetings is mandatory, even if a meeting should coincide with scheduled time off.
